The highlight of the trip is a tequila tasting, which is fun, but not what I was really looking for. The person who tasted the tequila with us was very entertaining. He even took us to a “locals” restaurant in the mountains (do yourself a favor and ask to have lunch at Chico’s!) with the the most delicious and authentic Mexican meals we had ever had. “We booked this tour expecting to be going to another butterfly exhibition. We realized we were going in a different direction and arrived to a place that was very remote. There were other stops along the way ( a jewelry store and tequila distillery) which were nice and informative, but it was the butterflies that we came to see. We’ve been to other butterfly exhibits but this one was different and special. We’ve learned about the butterfly, its life cycle, but most importantly, conservation efforts being made to preserve and even increasing the population. “If you're looking to get out and ride through Vallarta and it's southern towns, this is a great tour. I chose the beach option which was my favorite part then the food.
